Welcome

Welcome to the Lackawanna City School District,
home of the
Lackawanna Steelers!

The Lackawanna City School District serves a diverse population and views this as a wonderful learning opportunity for all. We provide a challenging curriculum to meet the educational needs of all our students while our schools continually work to improve by developing new curricula, implementing best practices and infusing more technology into student programming. Our students are offered a well-rounded selection of extra-curricular activities which allows them to experience the arts and sport competition outside of classroom instruction.

We take pride in our successes and will continue to raise the bar for ourselves in order to meet the ever-rising expectations of the State Education Department.

It is with much excitement that I begin my new role as Interim Superintendent. As a life-long resident of Lackawanna and a product of this school district, I have a personal commitment to ensure that all of our students achieve their potential and become well-rounded adults who are contributing members of our global economy.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website. Please know that your personal contact and input are always welcome.

Anne G. Spadone
Superintendent of Schools

Announcements

  • THE FUTURE OF THE YOUTH TOWN PROGRAM
The Lackawanna City School District regrets to inform you that we did not receive funding through the 21st Century Grant.  The majority of funding was allocated to New York City and the Central New York areas with only a few community based organizations from the Buffalo area receiving funding.

As a result, there WILL NOT be a summer Youth Town program for grades K-12.  We are currently working to provide you alternative options for students for both the summer and after school programs.  Please continue to check the website for updates.
