Youth Town is an after school program that is provided for Lackawanna City School District students enrolled at Truman Elementary School, Martin Road Elementary School, Lackawanna Middle School, or Lackawanna High School throughout the school year, including summer. It is funded by the 21st Century Grant, which is a Federal grant. The goal of the program is to provide additional instruction to students to help improve their performance in the areas of math, writing, and reading. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in additional programs that enhance their social skills, physical development and character development. These programs are Steeler Sports Network, Girl Scouts, Community Music, Library, Technology, and Art. Teachers also provide homework help for students.

For high school students, there is a Summer Credit Recovery program.  There is also a Regents Prep program offered to help prepare students for the upcoming NYS Regents exams. The Regents Prep program is provided in the fall and in the summer. Students receive test preparation in the areas of both lecture and labs in a variety subjects such as Mathematics, English, Social Studies, and Science.

If you are interested in registering for any of these programs, please contact the Youth Town office at 716-827-6776.
