The Way-Off Broadway Players from the Lackawanna Middle and High Schools will present their rendition of the musical "Annie."
Show dates are Friday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 9 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All performances will be held at the Boland Memorial Auditorium in Lackawanna High School, 550 Martin Road.
"Annie" is the well-known and loved musical based on the comic strip "Little Orphan Annie." Set in the 1930s, it is the story of a young orphan girl who is invited to spend Christmas with a wealthy industrialist, Oliver Warbucks. The two grow to love each other as parent and child and the happy ending sees Annie adopted by Warbucks and living happily ever after.
Due to planned construction and renovations at the Middle/High School complex, the dates for the annual musical needed to be moved from the spring to December. How fitting that the Players had already chosen a show based on the holiday theme!
Tickets for "Annie" are $10 general admission and $8 for students and senior citizens. Tickets may be obtained from the Middle School Office located on Martin Road or by calling the Learning Center at 827-6704, ext. 1.
