Brain Breaks

Brain Breaks in the Classroom

What is a Brain Break? A Brain Break is exactly what it sounds like - a practice which gives your brain a short respite from monotonous, routine, or predictable activity. These activities stop us from merely soaking in information or memorizing; with Brain Breaks, we have the ability to brain storm, use our creativity, and problem solve in unique ways. Additionally, Brain Breaks allow us to be physically active. Students have a chance to come out from behind their desk and incorporate more movement into their school day. You can think of a Brain Break as a workout for the mind and the body, which allows for stronger problem solving, better focus, and re-energizing students.
