When someone suffers from depression, suicidal thoughts, alcohol abuse, or substance abuse, on average it takes 10 years for that person to get treatment after the first symptoms appear. In that time, the issue can escalate from a manageable condition to a life altering crisis.
The good news is that asking for help doesn't need to be a challenging task.
It can be as simple as just telling one person.
