Kindness rocks designed in honor of Kindness Week.

For Kindness Week (February 13-17), the Lackawanna Middle School student council held a Spirit Week featuring a wellness celebration for each grade level. This was a fun way to celebrate Valentines Day and Black History Month while encouraging physical activity and friendship! Students earned their way into the event by following the steeler standards. Along with music and games in the cafeteria, students enjoyed peddling a delicious smoothie thanks to Healthy School and Community coordinators Sarah Whiteway and Kate Huber. LMS social worker,  Ms. Taddio, organized a Kindness Rock paint corner.  And to promote the LMS Golf Club, school psychologist, Mr. Mondo ran a putt-putt contest. The students also enjoyed team building games in the gymnasium headed by Mr. Russo and social worker Mrs. Saladaga.  African drumming classes were held in the auditorium, thanks to music teacher Ms. Tatum and Ringo Brill. Ringo is a remarkable Buffalo based artist specializing in percussive arts from around the world.
