Ms. Brock's First Grade class at Truman Elementary School celebrated Johnny Appleseed’s birthday with a fun and educational Apple Day! All week long, we explored the life and legacy of Johnny Appleseed and learned about the life cycle of an apple—from seed to tree to fruit.
We also used our five senses to observe and taste three different kinds of apples, comparing their flavors, colors and textures. The students loved becoming apple taste-testers!
In science, we ended the week with an exciting experiment: an apple volcano! The kids were fascinated watching the chemical reaction erupt from the middle of an apple.
It was a week full of hands-on learning, curiosity, and fall fun!
