Our 5th graders in Ms. Verstreate and Ms. Rzepka’s class were deeply engaged in learning today!
As part of the station-teaching model, students rotated through different learning activities that kept them active, supported, and challenged. This approach allows teachers to provide strong, high-quality instruction to all students while meeting individual learning needs.
One station focused on listening to “Creating a Nation” in their Wonders companion books. Students answered comprehension questions that helped them strengthen their understanding of the text. At another station, students worked with differentiated American Revolution readings, each one matched to their reading level so everyone could learn and grow at their own pace. Students also practiced important comprehension strategies, including identifying how authors use the problem-and-solution text structure to organize information.
So much focus, curiosity, and effort today, our 5th graders continue to make us proud!
