Third grade mathematicians are busy thinking like pattern detectives! This week, students explored numbered patterns by finding the rule and explaining how the pattern grows or changes. They also searched for patterns in both addition and multiplication tables, noticing relationships, repeats and connections between numbers.
Most importantly, students didn’t just find patterns. They explained their thinking, using math language to justify their rules and discoveries. This kind of reasoning builds strong number sense and prepares students for more complex math ahead!
