Lackawanna High School Senior Jossiah Rosado Roman has been named the WNY Football Thursday Night Lights Scholar Athlete of the Year, earning a $5,000 scholarship from MyTVBuffalo and Aesthetics Associates as well as being recognized as the top scholar-athlete in the region.
Selected from a competitive group of standout student-athletes, Jossiah first qualified for the award after being named Scholar Athlete of the Week during a varsity football game at Maryvale. From there, he submitted a two-minute video highlighting his academic excellence, athletic achievements, community involvement and character, ultimately standing out among all nominees.
Jossiah continues to be a leader in the Lackawanna school community, actively participating in a variety of sports and activities while maintaining strong academic performance both at LHS and in the Electrical Systems program with Erie 1 BOCES. After graduation, he plans to attend Alfred State University to continue playing football as well as his pursuit of the trades to become an electrician.
