Dear Families,
I am writing to share an important update regarding the start of the 2026–2027 school year.
Our first day of school, originally scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, will now be Tuesday, September 8.
This summer has been an incredibly busy and exciting one for our school. We have completed significant construction and improvement work throughout the building, and I am incredibly proud of the work our building and grounds teams have done. Our main spaces and common areas are beautiful, refreshed and ready to welcome our school community.
At the same time, the summer work has affected our classrooms and the time teachers have had to prepare their learning spaces. We want our teachers to have the opportunity to unpack, organize, arrange and thoughtfully prepare their classrooms so that when our children walk through the doors, they are entering spaces that feel warm, welcoming, comfortable, and ready for learning.
We recognize that changing the first day of school may create challenges for families. We know that many of you may have already made childcare arrangements, scheduled time off from work or made other plans around the original September 2 date. We do not make this decision lightly, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause.
However, we believe these additional days will allow our teachers and staff to begin the year in a much stronger position and, most importantly, allow us to give our students the welcoming start they deserve.
The new first day of school will be Tuesday, September 8.
Our supply drop-off days will still take place as originally planned at each school. Please refer to our Back to School webpage with other important dates ahead of the school year.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and partnership as we complete this important work. We are so excited to welcome our students back and to share the beautiful improvements to our school with them.
