Students in Mrs. Zak and Mrs. Sager’s classroom are diving deep into the novel A Long Walk to Water by Linda Sue Park!
Through a close-reading activity, students are analyzing the character traits of the novel’s two main characters, Salva and Nya, using evidence from the text to support their thinking. By engaging in this type of thoughtful reading, students are strengthening their comprehension skills, deepening their understanding of character development, and learning to support their ideas with relevant textual evidence.
We love seeing our students think critically, make meaningful connections, and engage with literature in such purposeful ways!
