Lackawanna City School District is gearing up for a week of fun, creativity and school pride with Winter Spirit Week, taking place Monday, December 15 through Friday, December 19 at Truman Elementary, Martin Road Elementary, Lackawanna Middle School and Lackawanna High School. Each building will celebrate with themed dress-up days and special activities leading into winter recess.
Truman Elementary Spirit Week:
Monday, Dec. 15 – Steeler Snowy Day: Dress like a snowman or snowflake or wear your Steelers blue
Tuesday, Dec. 16 – Candy Canes & Gingerbread Day: Wear red and white or dress like a gingerbread man
Wednesday, Dec. 17 – Jingle Elf Day: Dress in red and green or your holiday best
Thursday, Dec. 18 – Grinch Day: Wear your “Grinchiest” green
Friday, Dec. 19 – Polar Express Pajama Day: Wear your favorite holiday pajamas or comfiest clothes
Martin Road Elementary Spirit Week:
Melody Monday: Wear your favorite band shirt or anything with a holiday jingle
Tundra Tuesday: Dress like a snowman
Warm and Fuzzy Wednesday: Wear your favorite warm and fuzzy socks and sweaters
The Grinch Thursday: Dress like the Grinch or wear green
Festive Friday: Wear your ugly Christmas sweaters or socks
Lackawanna Middle School Spirit Week:
Monday – Merry Monday Morning: Pajama Day
Tuesday – Twinning with a Holiday Twist: Dress alike with friends or a teacher
Wednesday – Winter Wonderland Steeler Day: Wear white, blue or Steeler gear
Thursday – Character Day: Dress as your favorite holiday character
Friday – Flannel Friday Bills Day: Wear flannel or Buffalo Bills gear
Lackawanna High School Spirit Week:
Monday, Dec. 15 – Pajama Day: Wear your coziest pajamas
Tuesday, Dec. 16 – Winter Headband/Hat Day: Show off your favorite winter hats
Wednesday, Dec. 17 – Hawaiian Christmas: Dress like you’re on vacation
Thursday, Dec. 18 – Snow Day: Gear up for winter fun
Friday, Dec. 19 – Pep Rally Day: Santa vs. Grinch
Friday morning will feature a Winter Sports Pep Rally. Lowerclassmen (Grades 9–10) will represent Santa, and Upperclassmen (Grades 11–12) will represent the Grinch.
