Dear Parents and Guardians,
In an abundance of transparency, we want to inform you about a situation that occurred at our school today. An individual entered the building without following our established safety protocols and did not come through the main entrance.
The individual was promptly greeted by staff and our School Resource Officer (SRO) and exited the building shortly after. At this time, we do not believe there was any ill intent involved.
We are deeply appreciative of the swift and professional response by our staff and SRO in upholding our safety procedures. This incident has prompted immediate review and reinforcement of our protocols to ensure continued safety for all students and staff.
Specifically, staff within the building were directly addressed about this matter, and a reminder has been sent to all district employees to double-check that doors latch securely behind them. Additionally, we have implemented increased monitoring, with a watchman now checking door mechanics throughout the day.
As a reminder, all parents, guardians, and visitors must enter through the main entrance and check in at the front office any time they visit the school. Your cooperation is essential in maintaining a safe environment for our students.
This event serves as a valuable reminder for all of us to remain alert and vigilant. We are committed to the safety and well-being of everyone in our school community and appreciate your continued support.
