Ms. Monaco, our ELA coach, joined Mrs. Short’s third graders for morning circle to kick off the day with building community and a love of reading! Students dove into the story "We Are One" during a mini-lesson on visualization, a strategy that will carry over into their reading block as they practice identifying the setting.
To wrap up, Ms. Monaco read "The Sour Grape", and the class had such a rich discussion about how it connects to "We Are One"! Both stories remind us that when we choose kindness, empathy and understanding. We help our classroom and our world become stronger and more connected.
