Truman News - June

June 16, 2025

Dear Truman Elementary Families,

As I prepare to take on a new role and transition to the McKinley Central Offices, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the last four years as the Truman principal. Serving this incredible school community has been one of the most rewarding and memorable chapters of my professional journey—one I will carry with me with great pride and affection.

The relationships I've had the privilege of building—with our remarkable students, dedicated teachers, and caring families—have left a lasting impact on me. Together, we've created an environment rooted in trust, collaboration, and high expectations. Watching our students grow academically and personally, and celebrating their continued success year after year, has been a true joy and a testament to what we can accomplish when we work together

While change is always bittersweet, I am filled with confidence and excitement for Truman’s future. Beginning July 1, 2025, Ms. Julie Clark will step into the role of Truman principal. Ms. Clark brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student success, and I have no doubt she will lead Truman Elementary School with warmth, vision, and excellence. She will be partnering closely with Mr. Anello to continue fostering the strong community and academic momentum we’ve built together.

Though I will miss the daily connections and energy that fill the Truman halls, I look forward to supporting the Lackawanna City School District in new ways and cheering on the continued success of the Truman community.

With love,

Lisa Blake
