April Radder Staff Spotlight graphic

It's time for this week's Staff Spotlight! This week, we recognize Truman Art Teacher April Radder. Read April's bio below!

"I am currently the Art Teacher at Truman Elementary and have been teaching in LCSD for the past 10 years. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Art Education with a minor in Psychology, as well as my Master’s degree in Elementary and Special Education. Growing up, I was always told I would make a good teacher, and I’ve had a love for art for as long as I can remember. My own elementary art teacher inspired me to be the best I could be and to find my own unique style through art, and I strive to instill that same inspiration in my students every day.

Outside of the classroom, I am a published children’s book author and illustrator of Adam’s Way, which received a third place award at this past fall’s BookFest Awards event. I am also an avid chalk artist who participates in competitions during the summer to continue developing my own artistic practice."

Congratulations! See you next week where we'll highlight another one of our amazing staff members in LCSD!
